Bunnybunnybunny!
Bunnybunnybunny!
Bunnybunnybunny!, created as a final project for the Interactive Narrative course, is an HTML-based point-and-click text game. This is the first time I've created a game dealing with pure literal logic. The player plays the character of a “bad and naughty" bunny whose goal is to mess up the village he lives in. The plot will branch out based on players' choices.
Design Process
I started by jotting down my few plot elements on scratch paper, a notepad, an iPad, or any other place where I could write, and then I transcribed the content into HTML. And just like that, I had the broad framework of the narrative in place. I dedicated June and July to editing the material, contemplating how to offer the player a variety of captivating options and the potential outcomes of each choice.
The most difficult part of the development process was the connection between the different narrative pieces later in the process—I wrote a lot of logic code to connect the different branching directions to the different story developments—and this is where the most bugs occurred.
Based on the misè-en-scene needed, I made different illustrations and graphics. I found this super interesting—for example, I designed three rabbit outfits to make the player feel like they have their own agency over the character.
